Coaching has become one of the core competencies for today’s most effective leaders and managers. It provides a practical way of helping us to release the potential that sits inside us all. It can also be a facilitator to enable change, both at the individual and organisational level. People tend to remember their most effective coach or mentor throughout their lives.
Unfortunately, because coaching has become fashionable in recent years, there has been an explosion of people who describe themselves as coaches – damaging its credibility. The only thing we can do to counter this is to maintain a rigorous and proven approach to effective coaching ourselves.
